"A few years ago I found a box of 8mm films shot by my Grandfather in the 1960s. The footage was shot in the West Indies, Iran, England and South Africa. I'd had all the film rolls scanned for months before realising I might be able to use the material to make something that would appeal to people outside of my immediate family. It is a deeply personal piece of work and deals with themes and questions that I feel resonate with many people. Additionally, I feel it is both visually and sonically pleasing."
