"Carravagio himself and his works came to mind when presented with Holly Blakey’s (who was 27 weeks pregnant at the time of filming) performance piece. Carravagio was rebellious, tempestuous, controversial, and spontaneous, and so were his works.⁣ ⁣ 

I wanted to capture Holly’s edgy and diverse cast of dancers’ visceral and primal energy into this boxed in squared canvas, breaking in and out of this hierarchical triangular composition as found in paintings of that time."
